Review: You can always tell the quality of an insurance broker, not by the cost of the product but what happens when you make a claim. Let me show you how Ben Foley Williams of Marsh Commercial goes over and above what is needed.A couple of months ago our insurance for our clinic came up for renewal. My Mum was having her hair done and her hairdresser recommended Marsh Commercial.So, I gave them a call and got put through to a gentleman called Ben Foley Williams. OK to make life easier I had the policy document from the year before. Then he asked me a load of questions. Then he told me how we were paying for a whole load of things we didn’t need and weren’t covered for a whole load of things we did need. That horrified me.However, when the quote came through Ben had saved our company £300 which is nothing to be sneezed at.I was very impressed. We rent our flats as well. So, I diarised an email to send to him one month before the insurance was up for renewal. I sent him the existing policy documents showing the expiry date.He did the same thing again. This time he saved us another £300 for a better level of cover.However, then he went the extra mile or should I say 10 miles. With the heavy storms hitting the UK the roof of one of our properties started leaking. I emailed him and then the claims department of Marsh Commercial. Then Ben rang me, although he does new business, he took over completely. He told me to get an emergency roofer, send me an estimate of the cost and a report from that roofer. We had done this. He sent me an email to confirm all this and told me he was my primary contact in this matter and he would deal with this. When these things happen it’s incredibly stressful. Ben clearly understood that and within one conversation I went from being highly stressed to back to normal within minutes. It is my understanding that this is standard practice at Marsh Commercial and so I have no hesitation in recommending their services.I may be James Bond 007, but Ben Foley Williams is truly the 008 of insurance and I promise you he’ll leave you shaken but not stirred.

Review: If you ring the main 033 contact line (or the old 0113 no) , your get a long spiel of insurance babel which you are forced to listen to for a minute or two. Then no-one answers the phone -and you are left on hold being told “your time is precious to us…” every 30-60 seconds – yes there is an option to leave a voice mail and be called back, but if they cannot do a simple task of answering the phone, how can you trust them to call back.
